A Brief History of BodyTalk
BodyTalk was created by Australian Acupuncture and Natural health professional John Veltheim. Inspired by an ancient tapping technique which turned around his own health crisis, he developed an integrative system utilizing his extensive knowledge of many alternative and traditional healing techniques.
From an early age, Veltheim had a passion for healing. His studies include applied kinesiology, osteopathy, sports medicine, comparative philosophy and theology, neuroscience, and Chinese Medicine. In Australia, he was the director of the Brisbane College of Acupuncture and Natural Therapies and was trained in Acupuncture, Chinese Medicine, Martial Arts, Homeopathy, Naturopathy, Chiropractic, and Reiki.
John Veltheim had a thriving private practice where he received over a hundred patients each day. Working sixteen hour days, year after year, however, led to the rapid deterioration of his own health. His liver was failing and doctors gave him three or four days to live. He explored every alternative and traditional remedy he knew in an attempt to cure himself. Although he continued to live, Veltheim contracted the Epstein Bar virus with its perpetual flu-like symptoms, making it difficult for him to function. It was at this point that a health practitioner friend recommended he try an ancient technique involving head and heart tapping, which she had found effective in treating viruses. The results were dramatic. Within days all of his Epstein Bar symptoms had disappeared.
Impressed, John Veltheim began to explore this technique, developing it into a comprehensive health care system, which he called ‘BodyTalk.’ He expanded its scope, employing his extensive and varied knowledge of both Eastern and Western medical theories, and developed a comprehensive protocol of questions so that BodyTalk could address all aspects of a person’s health, not just viruses. Veltheim began using BodyTalk in his own practice and found that almost every condition not only responded to BodyTalk, but patients were healing faster. He soon had a year’s waiting list of patients.
BodyTalk is now all over the world in many countries. For info on the International BodyTalk Association visit http://www.bodytalksystem.com
